What is Counselling

Counselling offers a safe, confidential and supportive space for you to talk about your issues and concerns, with a qualified professional. It can help to alleviate distress, improve well-being, and bring positive changes into your life.

I draw on a wide range of therapeutic approaches, including (but not limited to) Person-centred Therapy, Mindfulness, Emotion-focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Positive Psychology. I work in a pluralistic/integrative way and will always tailor my approach to your needs.

I also offer coaching services. Coaching is like a supportive partnership where we work together to boost your personal and professional growth.  With a personalised and client-focused approach, I will work collaborately with you to help you with the following aspects:

  • Academic & Study Skills Coaching: Elevate your academic performance through cultivating effective study skills. 

  • Personal Development Coaching: Discover and harness your strengths, overcome obstacles, and achieve personal growth.

  • Career Coaching: Navigate career transitions, set career goals, and enhance professional development.

  • Life Balance Coaching: Achieve harmony in all aspects of life, including work, relationships, and personal well-being.

I can work with you in English or Mandarin Chinese.

 

Payment & Refund Policy

Before your first session, I offer a free 10-15 minute Zoom meeting so that we can discuss what you are looking for and what I can offer.

I offer a sliding scale for individual sessions, ranging from £65 to £80 per 50-minute session. This allows you to choose a price within this range that best fits your financial situation.  

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, 24 hours notice is required. The full fee will be charged if a session is cancelled less than 24 hours prior.

How to make payment

You can pay via PayPal or bank transfer. Details on how to pay will be given in the counselling working agreement/contract. I will send you the contract before our first session.

 

Crisis Support

Please note that I am unable to offer crisis support. If you require urgent help, please contact your GP or visit your nearest A&E department.

If you need to talk to someone, you can contact Mind: 0300 123 3393. Mind is a mental health charity and they provide an information and signposting service. They are open 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday (except for bank holidays). You can also find a list of available supports on their website (here).
